   In 2016, Ogunquit Beach was ranked number 1 for Best Coastal Small Town Beach in America. People flock to see 3 miles of white sand & no seaweed. Ogunquit Beach is around a 0.2 mile walk from the Betty Doon Hotel. Parking is limited, the Betty Doon Hotel offers FREE parking if you choose to stay here. Guests rave about the convenience of staying at the Betty Doon because of the location. Don't touch the car your entire stay & walk everywhere.  

  This is a must do/ see when visiting Ogunquit, Maine. It's around a mile walk which brings you right into the infamous Perkins Cove (listed below). The beginning of the walk is is around 0.20 mile walk from the Betty Doon. Even if you don't enjoy long walks the marginal way offers bench spaces all the way down. See some of the most luxurious homes with gorgeous flowers & views. There's a small replica light house located on the Marginal Way. Also there's access to Little Beach. If you are a collector walk out on the rocks (be careful), look for crabs, shells, ocean glass. 

Recommendation; Try to choose you favorite seat to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Whether you choose to walk the Marginal Way, take the Trolly service, or drive into the Cove this is a must visit while visiting Ogunquit. Only a mile walk from the Betty Doon Hotel whether you take Marginal Way or Shore Road. The Perkins Cove Bridge (picture shown) is a walking bridge allowing you to take beautiful pictures of the Cove. Also allows you to watch boats come and go. 

     Barnical Billy's is one of the most famous places to grab a fresh steamed lobstah. Many presidents have eating there from George W. Bush to Bill Clinton. Tom Brady was even spotted there in his early years in the early years of his career. 

Perkins Cove offers numerous tours such as fishing, wale watching, boat cruises, lobstering & sailing all of which are extremely popular. 

   If you are looking for steamed claims or lobsters Perkins Cove might be your destination.  

On the other hand, if you are shopper the Cove can also be your spot. There are many shops located in the heart of the Cove. 

If you enjoy visiting lighthouse you must visit The Nubble Lighthouse. The colors of the lighthouse are magnificent. Nubble sitting on it's own island. Tourists flock to visit the Nubble all year round. The Nubble is just 7 minutes South of the Betty Doon Hotel. Take Route 1 South to Route 1 A. Signs of Nubble Lighthouse will be all over the place. 

Recommendation: 

Visit the Nubble Lighthouse around Christmas time.
